Shawnessy is a well-established, family-friendly community in Calgary's southwest quadrant, bounded by Shawnessy Boulevard to the north, Macleod Trail to the east, 162 Avenue to the south, and 14 Street to the west. Named after British settler Samuel Shaw, the neighborhood was established in 1981 and has grown into one of South Calgary's most convenient residential areas.
The community is known for its excellent access to transit, shopping, recreation, and schools. The CTrain Red Line's Shawnessy Station is within walking distance, providing a direct connection to downtown Calgary in approximately 25 minutes without needing a car.
